Ok guys, I finally managed typing up my birthday post. Sorry for the delay. I am well aware that the calendar now says March and my birthday was on February. But I've been really busy and haven't even gotten a decent sleep in days. So yeah, I apologize for the delay.
Enjoy reading!
Birthday pictures can be found at my multply site, by the way.

Early on I promised to myself to put more importance on my 21st birthday rather than my 18th and consider it as my coming of age. I know, I'm weird like that. But I'm thankful my birthday turned out to be as good as expected. No, scratch that, even better.
It' the longest birthday celebration I ever had. It started on the morning of February 15th, when my friends Jin and Shuntaro finally granted one of my wishes to go on ice skating. Before that we had a light lunch at Gale's and proceeded to buy myself a pair of skates over at Value Village. Good thing they had my size, the skates in perfect condition. It was pretty cheap too. It was about $7.00 if I remember correctly. Afterwards we headed off to the skating rink where Jin taught me how to skate (pictures can be found at my multiply site as well). I'm actually proud of myself for accomplishing that feat. And I never even fell! Not even once! *gloats*
We went to Starbucks afterwards to thaw. Slurped some white chocolate mocha with whipped cream while bullying each other. Then I sent them off to the bus stop so that Jin could go to work and Shuntaro can go back to the land of the creatures of light. Ok, I lied about the last part. I just got so used to calling him a creature of light.
Honey came by at around 4:30-ish and succesfully managed to convert me into a Ha x Ki fan by showing me Ki's manchestedness. Yes, the word now exists because of my current manchest obsession that was started by Sasuke and was overpowered by Kiyoshi. We continued watching random Penicillin clips that has caused the further decline of my respect for Sato-kun. Aftewards, we baked Malibu-spiked fudge brownies fondly christened as Spikey and a perfectly safe (alcohol-free) Devil's Cake named Haku.
As per tradition in our sleepovers, we managed to get ourselves slightly tipsy with the help of Spikey, some daquiri, and Bailey's. We had to wake up early the following day though so we didn't get that drunk.
The highlight of the night would be us drooling over Death Trance leading dude's legs and me blurting out weird and slightly scandalous stuff.
We woke up early last Saturday, February 16, to meet up with Jin at Sherbourne station and eat at Swiss Chalet. We then went to Spadina to oficially start our girly day. We bought more liquor for the night then proceeded to the salon to get our hair done. Christina and I got our hair cut while Jin got hers permed. I initially wanted to get Victoria Beckham/ Katie Holmes' current hair style but I'm still afraid to let go of some length. So I just decided to get Mana-sama's hair style. Only now, I have realized that it's hard to maintain. But oh well. I really love my current hairstyle. It feels as if I lost 10lbs of hair because of the amount of thinning and layering the lady did on my hair.
We then purchased some natto (fermented soybeans) from Little Tokyo (because we were wondering why Hakuei likes eating it a lot), bought some chips, and then proceeded to go back over at my place to prepare for the J-North post-Valentine's party.
Fast-forward to after prettyfying ourselves up because the mere process took us more than an hour. I'm still much more comfortable with using a pencil eyeliner than a liquid one. But hey, it just means I need more practice!

So we went to the venue which was located along Queen St. East. Sometimes I would feel lucky at how conveniently near our house is to most places in here in Downtown. However, whenever I have to wake up super early and waste spend about 3 hours of my life just going to and from school every single day, I just don't feel so lucky anymore.
Anyway, we were fashionably late for the party but as it turned out, some people turned out even later than we did. The party was just like any regular shindig, what makes it different from the normal shebang would be the number of cosplayers who exerted tons of effort and money for the sake of their hobby and passion. The food was ok, we managed to snag some onigiri, gyouza, some cookies, and hotdog sandwhiches. Half of the time we spent at the dance floor, trying to spaz I mean, dance. Jin also taught us how to dance the Tell Me dance, though I must admit I have already forgotten the dance steps (again). Ugh, screw me and my lousy memory. The three of us also participated in one game, a hybrid of musical chairs and newspaper dance, musical paper. I definitely beat the crap out of this one dude's ass. But my luck unfortunately ran out when we ended up with three remaining players. Hell, I was wearing stiletto heels that night. How could I stand against two competitive unchivalrous guys?! Oh well, at least it got me a consolation prize. It was a shoujo manga I've never heard of before, though. It did make a pretty addition to my growing manga collection, though. If only for the memories it comes with.
Half of the time we spent at the tables, playing balloon-volleyball, where we managed to meet a new gay friend. I swear our gaydars and gay-magnets have never undergone so much work compared to that night. There was even this one pair Honey and I have dubbed as Sho and Hikaru. Because the uke looked like Hikaru and acted sort of like him too. I mean, he even sat on Sho's lap! Ugh! *facepalm* It would have been so much better if they were the real lofe Sho and Hikaru. Of course Jin would have to disagree on that one. She nearly died upon seeing the blatant dispaly of PDA. Bless her heart, the poor girl.
We also bugged the poor DJ of the night, who I remembered as someone we saw during the Moonlight Masquerade last year, to play some Dir en grey songs. Because hey, that's the point of us going there. We requested for Clever Sleazoid but got DIsabled Complexes instead. I'm not complaining though. At least he played us something.
We then decided to go home after Diru. And my lovely ladies bullied me into putting on candles on the Haku cake and blow them at midnight. We then proceeded to bring the essential stuff for more partying to the bedroom-- some chips, Spikey the spiked fudge browinies, some natto, water, and of course, the alcohol.
OH THE ALCOHOL! More Bailey's, more daquiri, more Malibu, and SOJU. Never thought it would be that strong. Soju was freaking wicked!
And let's leave it at that. Let's just say somebody got massively drunk that night (or morning, whatever) and leave it at that. Whatever happened that night will stay between the three of us. But if you really want to know, just reply to this entry or send me an email. I kid, friends, I kid. *winks*
We also tried natto which, I swear to god, stinks like sweaty socks. Despite the smell, however, it tasted pretty decent. Jin thought otherwise. Honey said she has smelled something nastier before so natto (to her standards) wasn't that bad. I finished one container. And regretted it. NOT!
So we got smashed, somebody woke up with a massive hangover, I woke up with a slight headache, but we basically had tons of fun. Especially on the expense on she-who-got-massively-drunk-and-swore-never-to-drink-again.
Yeah, right. I have now made it my life's goal to make you drink again. And this time, I will recrod every single damn thing you say. Because apparently, you're the type of drunk that forgets about everything you did the night before. Haha.. I still love you, though. Even with the amount of bullying I subject you to.
Even with the hangover however, I had to wake up early on the 17th. More visitors were expected to attend, this time my mom's friends and by extension, our family friends, so I had to go and help out with the preparations. We had an all-Filipino lunch at home and then my friends had to leave.
After the lunch, the entire family went over to Scarborough to Tito Lando and Tita Tess' new house. Tita Bing, Tito Jun, Tito Lando, and I all have our birthdays on February so we sort of have a joint birthday celebration. I managed to get out of singing this time around, claiming I was too tired and that I have sore throat. The lie totally bit me in the ass. I've caught my monthly case of flu after that and been extremely sick for the week that followed.
So that concludes my birthday post. I would like to thank everybody for remembering me on that day. I won't list all of you in here anymore. But I want you all to know that appreciate all of you guys. I'd like to thank my Daddy for giving me Kyouhei-kun, my kickass new camera. To my Mommy who spent for my party food and the cake, thank you. For Anika for all her recycled birthday presents, thank you. For my friends back in the Philippines, I really treasure our friendship. Jamie and Kat, I love you guys. I would also like to thank Sayuri for remembering my birthday. To Rosie and Chrissy for giving me Rissie, my new purple bear who I named in their honor, thank you for the thoughfulness and the lack of thong this time. And to Jin and Christina, thank you so much for the super fun birthday weekend with you guys. It was a really memorable coming of age.
